Man lost overboard

A young man went overboard the "Carnival Spirit" as it headed toward Noumea, New Caledonia, in March 29, 2019. The person was reported overboard near coast of Noumea at 1 a.m. The ship turned aroudn at 4 a.m. No trace was found of the 25 year old middle eastern man. Surveillance had seen the man falling into the sea. The ship had departed from Sydne on March 27th and was scheduled to arrive in Noumea, New Caledonia on March 30 at 8:00 a.m. The ship was scheduled to call on ports in Vanuatu and New Caledonia before returning to Sydney on April 7.

Medevac off Coffs

A passenger aboard the "Carnival Spirit" was being treated by a medical team on a cruise ship off the Coffs Coast on Jan 16, 2019. The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter winched a medical team onto the ship 40 nautical miles east of Coffs Harbour in the morning. Crews were treating the 70 year old patient on board for a medical condition. The helicopter has returned and landed at Coffs Harbour until it receives confirmation to return and winch patient and medical team from the "Carnival Spirit".

Carnival Cruise Line Announces That Carnival Spirit Will Sail Year-Round From Brisbane

Carnival Cruise Line, the world’s largest cruise line, announced Carnival Spirit will become the brand’s first ever ship to home port in Brisbane. The announcement follows the ACCC’s approval of a new cruise ship terminal in Brisbane. Rated as Australia’s favourite year-round cruise ship by members of Cruise Critic, Carnival Spirit will arrive into her new home in 2020. She will sail year-round from Brisbane to the stunning tropical archipelagos of Vanuatu and New Caledonia, as well as offer shorter cruises to well-loved destinations in North Queensland.
