Tropical storm caused changes of itinerary
The "Carnival Sunrise", which has from New York City to Kings Wharf in Bermuda on Sep 17, 2019, had an itinerary change which saw the ship diverted to Charleston, South Carolina, on Sep 18 due to the hurricane Humberto. The plan was for the ship to stop in Charleston and then continue to Bermuda for a delayed visit. But as Sunrise approached Bermuda, the weather again proved problematic. As a result, passengers were told that the ship would not be able to dock and would instead head back to New York City.

In the afternoon of Agu 27, 2019, Carnival Cruise Line confirmed to Cruise Radio that two of their ships would experience itinerary changes because of the tropical storm Dorian. The modifications were made in order to avoid the current path of and remain a safe distance from the storm. The Fleet Operations Center continued to monitor the storm and will make any adjustments as needed. The "Carnival Breeze" will wind up skipping San Juan to spend the day at sea. The "Carnival Sunrise" was slated to make all of the stops on her itinerary, but in a different order. The "Carnival Breeze" will return to Port Canaveral on Aug 31, and the "Carnival Sunrise" will be back in New York City on Sep 4 as originally scheduled.
