Iranian Navy repelled pirate's attack

Fri Dec 01 09:45:54 CET 2017 Timsen

In the morning of Nov 26, 2017, the frigate "Alvand" and the support vessel "Lavan" of the Iranian Navy were able to prevent armed pirates from boarding the "Caspian Harmony" near the Gulf of Aden. The attempted act of piracy took place south of Ras Sharbitat off the Oman coast. The ship which was enroute from Abu Dhabi to Casablana has since passed through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea. Details of the attempt remained sketchy and have not been confirmed by other organisations operating in the region.
