191 migrants interdicted off Haiti
The 'Spencer' has repatriated 191 migrants to Haiti on Sep 2, 2025, following an interdiction approximately 40 nautical miles north of Cap Haitien, Haiti. The 'Spencer'’s crew had notified Coast Guard Southeast District watchstanders on Aug 29 of an overloaded vessel disabled in international waters. Once aboard the Coast Guard cutter, the migrants were processed to determine their identity and provided food, water, shelter, and basic medical attention before repatriation to their country of origin or return to the country of their departure. Coastguard ship seized narcotics valued at over US$10 million
The CG 'Spencer' has returned home to Boston, Massachusetts, after a 59-day patrol during which it seized narcotics valued at over US$10 million. Spencer‘s seizure of around 200 kilograms of cocaine and 680 kilograms of marijuana occurred in the Eastern Pacific in cooperation with US partner agencies.The counterdrug operations were carried out with the help of an embarked helicopter and aircrew from the coast guard’s Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON), an aerial interdiction unit.
