Fuel injector trouble off Prawle Point
The 'Champion Contest' with 16 crew members on board suffered a fuel injector fault in pos. 49 46.95 N, 03 34.75 W, 25 nautical miles southeast of Prawle Point on Jan 30, 2022. At 9 a.m. the duty engineer noticed a minor leakage on the injector of No.2 unit and the chief engineer ordered the main engine to be stopped in order to replace the injector at 09.40 a.m. At 10 a.m. the repairs were completed and No.2 injector tested satisfactorily. The ship then resumed its voyage from Rostock to the Panama Canal with an ETA as of Feb 14.

The 'Champion Contest', en route from Skagen, to the Panama Canal Panama with 16 crew members on board, suffered a fuel injector fault in position 49 46.95 N, 003 34.75 W, about 25 nautical miles southeast of Prawle Point on Jan 30, 2022, at 08.30 a.m. The defect was repaired by the crew, and the vessel resumed its voyage at 9 a.m. with an ETA as of Feb 14.
