CHARLES DARWIN 9528079

Fri Jan 14 22:12:32 CET 2011 zaloasv

A new 30,500m3 capacity, 181-metre dredger for Belgian company Jan De Nul, called ‘Charles Darwin’, has been supplied with a number of deck machinery items from Spanish company Ibercisa. The contract includes two combined windlasses with Ø81mm chain, which have been measured to work without stoppers due to the limited deck space. Its brakes have been calculated to support 80 percent of the load breaking chain.
