Pirates boarded products tanker off the coast of Nigeria Jan 11 2011 and later kidnapped three of the crew. Subsequent reports indicate that the three Filipino crewmen have been released unharmed but this could not be confirmed as this report was prepared. The attackers came on board the vessel and for the next 14 hours terrorised the crew while ransacking the ship. They later left taking one of the vessel’s lifeboats and three of the crew.
