Pirate attack thwarted

In the afternoon of Apr 22, 2017, the amphibious assault ship "Galicia" of the Spanish Navy received a distress call from the "Costina" suffering a piracy attack off Somalia's eastern coast in the Indian Ocean. The vessel was attacked by a skiff with five pirates. The "Galicia" approached the tanker, sending ahead a helicopter. The pirates meanwhile fled, tanker and crew remained unharmed. A Special Forces team boarded the tanker to ensure everything was safe and there were no pirates around.
