Medevac near Punta Sur

A 76-year old passenger of the 'Crystal Symphony' needed medical evacuation on Nov 23. The request was made by the captain of the ship after learning the American man was experiencing a health issue. The evacuation took place near Punta Sur at Isla Mujeres. The man was admitted to a local hospital in Cancun suffering from internal bleeding. He was listed in stable condition.

Medevac near Glacier Bay

An Coast Guard Air Station Sitka aircrew medically evacuated a passenger from the "Crystal Symphony" near Glacier Bay, Alaska,on Sep 7, 2019. At 2:30 p.m., the Coast Guard Juneau Command Center received a call via VHF Channel 16 from the cruise ship requesting a medevac of a 52-year-old male reportedly suffering heart attack symptoms. The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew safely hoisted and transported the passenger to awaiting Emergency Medical Service personnel in Sitka from where an EMS crew took him to Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. The patient was evaluated and then flown to Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center by a Guardian Flight crew.

CRYSTAL SYMPHONY being prepared for major refurbishment at Lloyd Werft

The 1995-built CRYSTAL SYMPHONY will undergo an EUR multi-million refurbishment at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven this fall. The major refurbishment includes the creation of two new restaurants and 40 new suites.
