Engine failure on St. Lawrence River
The 'CSL Welland' suffered an engine failure in position 48 36 30 N, 068 44 00 W, on the St. Lawrence River off Forestville, Quebec, on Jan 3, 2022, at around 5.40 p.m. The crew carried out repairs which allowed the vessel to resume its voyage. It berthed at the Racine Container Terminal in Montreal on Jan 5.
Allision with ship arrestor
On April 25, 2021, at 2 a.m. the 'CSL Welland' allided with the ship arrestor for Lock No. 2 in the Welland Canal, Ontario, in position 43 11 32.3N, 079 12 07.4W. The ship was enroute from Port Colborne to Port Weller where it berthed later in the day.
Canal traffic stopped after allision
The "CSL Welland", enroute from Port Colborn to Quebec, struck the ship arrester upon entering the lock 7 of the Welland Canal between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, Ontario, on Apr 1, 2018, around 2.15 p.m. while proceeding downstream. Traffic was suspended until the ship was freed and resumed sailing on Apr 2 at 1.50 a.m.
