Catamaran ferry suffered engine damage
In the morning of July 3, 2016, the "Dodekanisos Pride" suffered engine damage enroute from Samos to Fournoi, Ikaria, Patmos, Lipsi, Leros, Kalymnos and Kos. After the departure of Ikaria problems with the control of the port side engine occurred. The vessel arrived at Pythagoreanat 11.30 a.m. where the 73 passengers were disembarked and were taken to their destinations by other means. The Pythagorean Port Department banned the catamaran from sailing until repairs were carried out and the classification societies had confirmed it was safe for sailing. The ship meanwhile resumed its schedule and was expected at Kos on July 4 at 1.50 p.m. now.
