Ferry docked in Ischia with strong list

The "Don Peppino", which was crammed full of vehicles and heavy vehicles and full of passengers, arrived at the port of Ischia in the morning of April 20, 2019, with a dangerous list to port side. The case led to an immediate intervention of the Coast Guard of Ischia which opened an investigation to understand how the ship, which had come from Pozzuoli, could develop such a list. After carrying out the preliminary checks in order to verify the number of passengers and vehicles, the Coast Guard requested a technical assessment by Rina (Italian Naval Register), which confirmed the class of the ferry thus allowing the ship to continue the scheduled service. Allision in Ischia

On Feb 23, 2019, the "Don Peppino" which had left the port of Pozzouli bound to Ischia at 07.15 a.m. was caught by strong north-northeast wind upon its port entry at 8.30 a.m. and bumped against the bow of the Medmar ferry "Benito Buono". The "Don Peppino" was forced to return to Pozzuoli, with all passengers still on board. The ferry suffered slight damage, but there were no injuries.
