Passenger ship and trawler broken up in Lorient
The 'Dravanteg' and the trawler 'Guillemot VI', 99 gt (MMSI: 228262800), will be the first ships to be deconstructed in Keroman. The Lorient naval repair got the authorization from the prefect to deconstruct vessels. First on the list is the 'Guillemot VI', a trawler which ran aground in the night of Jan 30, 2007, near Lorient and was declared a CTL following its salvage from the rocks of Les Errants 30 hours later due to very heavy hull damage. The wreck has remained stored on the yard area since.Now the Sem Lorient-Keroman has obtained administrative authorizations to create a demolition zone at the Keroman repair area. The trawler will be followed by the 'Dravanteg' which has docked at Lorient for many years after being decommissioned from its service to the Morbihan islands.
