Collision caused allision

Following the collision with another ship, the 'Dythar' allided with the West lock in Terneuzen on the morning of July 30, 2025. Both the lock and the ship were damaged. The locks were operational again just over an hour after the accident. Aside from damage to the ships and the lock gate, the consequences for shipping were minimal. The Public Works and Water Management carried out emergency repairs. The lock was operational again so quickly that the waiting ships were also able to continue their journey very quickly. Although the damage did not impede the operation of the lock, it will be repaired during regular maintenance. The cause of the collision was unknown to Rijkswaterstaat. The 'Dythar' suffered damage both to the stern and the bow and remained stationary at the canal way as of July 31.
