Wed Mar 06 20:45:53 CET 2019 Timsen

On March 6, 2019, the "Edricko 11" with a crew of 20 on board ran aground in the waters of the Bali Strait enroute to Tanjungwangi Port, Banyuwangi. The asphalt tanker had sailed from the ports of Manyar, Gresik, East Java. When approaching Tanjungwangi port, the ship suffered engine problems. It was caught by the current and ran aground in the waters south of Gilimanuk at 5:30 a.m. about 500 meters south of the dock on the BBM landing for the Gilimanuk power plant, two miles from Gilimanuk port. The master informed to the Indonesian Navy and the Jembrana SAR Post. The tug "Anggada" of the PT Pelindo Tanjugwangi, Banyuwangi started refloating attempts at 9 a.m. and got the vessel off at 9:15 a.m. The vessel was taken to Tanjungwangi port then.
