Fuel pump trouble off Newport
The 'Eems Spring', en route from Ayr to Newport in ballast condition, suffered problems with its fuel pump in position 51 21 42 N, 03 24 31.2 W, on Dec 19. 2019, at 06.45 a.m. No assistance was required. The vessel completed its repairs at 08.30 a.m., resumed the voyage and arrived in port at 12.45 p.m.
Captain intoxicated at the helm
On Oct 06, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. the captain of the "Eems Spring" was found to be intoxicated at the helm during a police control in Kiel. A breathalyzer test showed 1,67 o/oo. A blood sample was taken and the master replaced before the ship proceeded to Bremen.
