Eisvogel returned to Vienna after repairs

Wed Nov 08 18:27:41 CET 2017 Timsen

After the assessment by the insurers in the shipyard ÖSWAG Yard Linz AG the "Eisvogel" has been extensively repaired after the smouldering fire in February and has now returned to Vienna. Crew cabins, galley, saloon and wheelhouse have been refurbished. In addition, the ship was equipped with fire detectors, which forward an alarm message to an emergency telephone of the operating team when triggered. In addition, the electrical installations and wiring were replaced. During the past few months, all engines and drive units have been tested and serviced. In addition, the underwater and deck painting was renewed. The "Eisvogel" can now break up to 60 centimeters thick ice.
