Disabled trawler towed to Whitby
A fishing vessel went to the aid of the "Sparkling Waters" which had broken down on Apr 11, 2013, in the evening. At 4.40 p.m. the Humber coastguard requested the launch of RNLI Whitby all-weather relief lifeboat "Forward Birmingham" to assist the fishing vessel, which had six crew on board. The fishing vessel "Courage" had attempted to tow the larger trawler back in to Whitby but also began to have engine problems and was struggling with the tow as the "Sparkling Waters" was sheering to starboard. The relief lifeboat took over the tow and made way for Whitby harbour, arriving at 5.55 p.m. The "Sparkling Waters" was safely moored alongside Whitby Fish Quay at 6.15 p.m. Report with photo: http://www.whitbygazette.co.uk/news/local/courage-goes-to-stricken-vessel-s-aid-1-5590984
