Pontoon lost emergency anchor

Sun Dec 10 17:31:56 CET 2017 Timsen

On Dec 9, 2017, the "Ems Ponton 7", being pulled by the "Ems Pull", from Emden to Papenburg, at 5.15 p.m. lost its emergency anchor gear upon entering the sea lock of Papenburg. The anchor chain was immediately recovered by the crew, but there was no longer an anchor attached. It was unclear weather the anchor got lost in the lock area or earlier. The gate of the lock could be closed again. The water police Emden launched an investigation. The tug-barge-combination berthed in Papenburg at 6.30 p.m.
