Longliner seized after violating fishing legislation again
The "Entreislas" was suspected for violations of the legislation of fishing for the second time in less than a year 90 miles off Finistère. During an inspection, it was found that the information recorded in the logbook of the vessel did not comply with the amount of fish in the holds. 860 pounds were not mentioned. The longliner was diverted to the port of Douarnenez (Finistère) on Jan 14, 2014. Here the vessel was seized by the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea. The ship wwas to be released after bail was paid to guarantee the payment of fines that may be imposed by the court of Quimper, at whom the master will appear on June 18. The longliner had already been baffled in July 2013 at the port of Douarnenez for similar offenses. The owner had to pay a deposit of 22,500 Euros for the release of the ship.
