Ferry suffered engine failure

On May 4, 2025, at noon, the Port Authority of Volos was informed by the Captain of the 'Flying Dolphin Erato' about a failure of the port side main engine ahead of the departure for the scheduled route to the northern Sporades, with 29 passengers and six crew members on board. The Central Port Authority of Volos prohibited the departure of the ferry, until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the monitoring classification society.

Hydrofoil lost part of middle wing

On the morning of Oct 21, the Port Authority of Skopelos was informed by the Master of the 'Flying Dolphin Erato', 162 gt (IMO: 8861448), which was performing a scheduled route from Alonissos, Agnotas Skopelos, Glossa Skopelos, Skiathos and Volos with 13 peopöe on board, that during its voyage from Alonissos to Agnotas Skopelosa part of the middle wing detached south of the island Ah Giorgis. The Port Authority of Skiathos prohibited the sailing of the ship until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance is presented by the monitoring classification society. The passengers bound for Skiathos and Skopelos were forwarded to their destinations by the care of the ship-owning company

Engine damage off Alonissos

The Port Authority of Alonissos was informed in the morning hours of Sep 19 by the Master of the 'Flying Dolphin Erato' about a failure of the starboard side main engine during the scheduled route from Alonissos to Skopelos-Glossa Skopelos-Skiathos-Volos and return. The vessel sailed under its own power to the port of Alonissos, where it safely disembarked its 31 passengers. The Port Authority of Alonissos has prohibited the sailing of the ship, until the damage has been repaired and a certificate presented by the monitoring classification society.
