24 migrants rescued by two vessels
On Jan 10, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez was contacted by several migrant boats reporting difficulties in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. The CROSS deployed the VCSM 'Escaut' to assist. 14 migrants were picked up and then dropped off at the port of Dunkirk, where they are taken care of by the border police at 10.58 a.m. The CROSS Gris-Nez was also notified by the BSAM 'Rhône' that a boat was in difficulty off Ambleteuse. The 'Rhône' provided assistance. The ship picked up 10 castaways and brought them to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, where they were taken care of by the border police at 2:45 p.m.
Patrol boat rescued nine migrants
On Jan 09, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez was notified by the BSAM 'Rhône' that a boat with nine migrants was in difficulty off Audresselles. The CROSS immediately tasked the BSAM 'Rhône' to assist them. The migrants were safely recovered by the Rhône and did not request medical assistance. They wee dropped off at the quay in Boulogne-sur-Mer where they were picked up by the border police at 1:55 p.m.Upload News
