Medevac off Noirmoutier

Tue Mar 14 12:08:49 CET 2023 Timsen

On March 13, 2023, a crew member of the 'Mare Liberium' suffered a heart problem and needed to be medevaced. The Civil Security helicopter, Dragon 56, was deployed by the CROSS Etel at 8:30 a.m. from the Lann-Bihoué base in Lorient. The helicopter took about 30 minutes to reach the ship, which was located about 40 kilometers off Noirmoutier. The patient was winched, taken care of by the medical team in the helicopter and then transported to the Vannes hospital where he arrived at 9:40 a.m., and the Vannes emergency department took over.

FV MARE LIBERUM

Tue Mar 29 21:51:04 CEST 2011 Timsen

The still unchristened rescue boat "SK 33" from Büsum assisted the "Mare Liberum" on Mar 29, 2011. The fully loaden ship with a crew of two had suffered a failure of two hydraulic pumps and subsequently a totally blocked rudder which left the ship adrift off the North Frisian coast. At 2.50 a.m. the crew called the rescue station Büsum. Another f/v took the "Mare Liberum" in tow, while the "SK 33" proceeded and towed the casualty to Büsum at 3.46 a.m. German report with photo:
http://www.dgzrs.de/index.php?id=62&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=622&tx_ttnews[backPid]=30&cHash=19937f8cad2a37e478a8afa267e7787f
