Fregate assisted disabled motor yacht

In the morning of July 11, 2020, the ‘Sachsen-Anhalt‘ assissted the disabled Lithuanian m/y ‘Bella‘ with a crew of three on board in the Jade fairway off Wilhelmshaven. They had issued a distress call at 6.47 a.m. The fregate launched a Buster, a small speedboat, which reached the yacht at 7 a.m. The anchor chain had got entangled in a propeller and disabled the boat. At 7.30 a.m. also the lifeboat ‘Fritz Thieme‘ of the DGzRS reached the site. Along with a second buster they jointly managed to free the propulsion of the yacht with a hawser which was pulled underneath the hull. Then the ‘Fritz Thieme‘ took the ‘Bella‘ in tow to Wangerooge.
