Maiden voyage delayed

Thu Sep 11 12:16:20 CEST 2025 Timsen

The 'Disney Adventure' has delayed its maiden voyage to March 10, 2026. The ship was originally meant to begin sailing on Dec 15, 2025, meaning that Disney Cruise Line has had to cancel the first 24 sailings of the ship. Based off the maximum capacity of 6700 passengers, these cancellations will affect up to 160,000 holidaymakers. Shipbuilding delays were cited as the reason for having to push back the ships maiden voyage. All affected guests will receive a full refund, as well as a 50% discount on a future Disney cruise. Guests who were booked on the maiden voyage will be automatically booked on the new maiden voyage and receive 50% off their cruise fare. However, Disney will not provide compensation for airfares, hotel bookings or other travel-related expenses that guests may have now incurred as a result of the changes. The ship arrived in Bremerhaven on Sep 9.

Two yard workers found to be wanted by police

Fri Sep 05 11:39:57 CEST 2025 Timsen

When the "Disney Adventure" departed Wismar on Sep 1, two men were also on board who were wanted by the police. They were discovered when the cruise ship docked at the Mukran ferry port on Sep 3. Officers became aware of this while analyzing passenger data provided to the Federal Police. The two people were shipyard workers sailing on the ship to carry out final work on the ship's trials. A 44-year-old man was wanted by the Augsburg Public Prosecutor's Office for drunk driving. For this offense, the man was sentenced in 2022 by the Augsburg District Court to a fine of €2,400 or a prison sentence of 60 days. He paid the required amount and was allowed to remain on board. In addition, the Munich District Court issued an arrest warrant against a 24-year-old man for fraud. The man's whereabouts were previously unknown. The Munich public prosecutor's office issued a warrant for his arrest two months ago. The accused was forced to leave the ship and spent the night in a federal police cell in Stralsund. On Sep 4, the arrest warrant was confirmed by the Stralsund District Court. The "Disney Adventure" left Mukran on the afternoon of Sep 4. Its destination was Bremerhaven, where work on the ship was to be continued.

Biggest cruise ship ever built in Germany left Wismar

Tue Sep 02 12:50:56 CEST 2025 Timsen

On the evening Sep 1, 2025, the 'Disney Adventure' has left the outfitting pier in Wismar, headed toward the Baltic Sea to begin trials. The moved away from the quay at around 6:30 p.m. with tug and pilot assistance after authorities had closed the port to other traffic. The transit through the fairway took several hours. The ship’s first stop was Mukran on Rügen Island to load supplies before continuing with trials and then proceeding to Bremerhaven for final outfitting works. The 'Disney Adventure' is the largest cruise ship ever built in Germany and was repurposed from a hull originally started for Genting’s Dream Cruises; Disney acquired the unfinished project in 2022 and engaged the Meyer Group to complete it in Wismar, After trials and finishing work, Disney plans to homeport the ship in Singapore under a five-year agreement starting in 2025, with a maiden voyage slated for December 15; at full occupancy it is expected to carry around 6,000–6,700 guests with more than 2,000 crew, which would make it the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
