Detained bulk carrier released
The 'Golden Bright' has been released on Sep 19 and has completed offloading of the imported 23004 tonnes of Indian salt. The vessel's owner was trying to fulfil the formalities of the post-release order and the vessel is likely to sail on Sep 22. The ship had arrived on Aug 30 and allided with the bulk carrier Jahan Brther' at the outer anchorage short past midnight. As of Sep 22, the 'Golden Bright' remained stationary in pos. 22° 07.90' N 091° 47.74' E off Chittagong.
Bulk carrier remains arrested after allision
The 'Golden Bright' remained under arrest at the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port as of Sep 14, after the issuance of the High Court Order on Sep 1. The vessel had arrived on Aug 30 with the imported 23.004 tonnes of Indian Salt and was yet to complete off-loading. It was alleged that while coming to the outer anchorage, the ship allided with another bulk carrier, the 'Jehan Brothers' (IMO: 9072226), which arrived on Aug 27, laden with limestone for the local cement industry at the outer anchorage. The owner of the Bangladeshi vessel filed a case for damages if any. Both vessels may have been damaged, but the report of the survey was yet to be released.
Bulk carrier arrested off Chittagong
The 'Golden Bright' with a cargo of 23.004 tonnes of Indian salt on board and bound for Bangladesh, was arrested on Sep 1, 2022, as per the local High Court orders in Chittagong, dated the same day. The ship had arrived at the port's outer anchorage on Aug 30 and remained moored in pos. 22° 15.80'N 091° 44.69' E as of Sep 5.Upload News
