Arrest in Dover

Sun Jul 18 12:01:40 CEST 2021 Timsen

The 'Golden Horizon' was detained at the port of Dover on July 15, 2021, as the latest development in a long-running legal dispute between the builders of the vessel in Croatia and the cruise line which originally ordered its construction. A UK Admiralty court ordered the ship detained at the Port of Dover after it arrived from a pre-inaugural travel industry event. The cruise line sought the order in a financial dispute with the builders, which continued to own the ship and chartered it to a newly formed company. The ship was released to continue the inaugural voyages on July 16. The vessel, which is due in Australia at the end of the year and again in 2022, was on its first sailings when it was put under arrest amid claims the shipyard which built her was owed $11 million.
