Tuna fisher broke down

Sat Feb 09 18:30:00 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Grete" broke down on Feb 8, 2019, near the Young Rocks due south of Vivonne Bay. Two other Port Lincoln-based tuna fishing vessels, the "Maria Luisa" and "Delamer" whiche also in the area fishing, were steaming southwest in response to the distress call but had to cover about 100km in very rough seas with a swell of five meters. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority also has a fixed wing aircraft responding to the emergency. At 4.30 p.m. the "Grete" was no longer in immediate danger, but still broken down. At 6.30 p.m. the "Maria Luisa" had the "Grete" under tow and is heading toward Antechamber Bay on the eastern side of Kangaroo Island.
