Tugboat fire contained within about one hour
Firefighters battled a blaze on the "Gulf Dawn" docked at a pier in Tottenville in the afternoon of Sep 27, 2014. The fire, which was confined to a storage compartment in the front of the boat broke out just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Ellis Street and Weir Lane. Firefighters had it under control around 6:14 p.m. There was a large FDNY response. Twelve units and 60 firefighters responded.
