Six rescued after Hansa Siegburg sank sand carrier
All six crew members on board the Chinese cargo vessel "Hai Run 607" were rescued on Nov 11, 21014, after a collision with the "Hansa Siegburg" off Xiamen. The accident occurred southeast of Qingyu Island, and the "Hai Run 607", which was carrying a cargo of sand, took on water and started to sink. The Donghai Rescue Bureau dispatched the rescue ship "Donghaijiu 116" to the site which arrived at 22.50 p.m. LT. Five crew members had already been rescued by a passing vessel, with the other one pulled from waters by the rescue ship. One of the crew members was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, but the rest was not in critical condition.
