Freighter adrift in Bosphorus

In the evening of Oct 2, 2020, the 'Varnava' while transiting the Bosphorus was disabled and went adrift due to a rudder failure. evening. The ship began to drift due to a malfunction in the rudder. Coastal Safety deplyoed tugs to assist, and the ship was moored on Büyükdere anchorage for repairs. On Oct 3 it remained stationary in pos. 41° 9.40' N 029° 2.90' E. Grounding off Azov

The 'Varnava' developed problems with its steering gear and ran aground in the Black Sea off the port of Azov on July 31, 2019, at 9 a.m. There were no reports of any injuries.
