Freighter sank fishing vessel

The 'Hayato' was in collidsion with a fishing vessel while approaching Kashima port, Honshu, north of Tokyo, on Nov 28, 2020, at 05.30 Ta.m. The fishing boat sank, with the bow tip still protruding above the water surface. All 12 crew members were initially rescued, all of them had suffered injures, to which one of the fishermen later succumbed. A patrol boat of the Japan Coastguard was on scene for investigations. The 'Hayato' dropped anchor at the accident site and berthed in Kashima at 10 p.m. Video:
