Ferry slipped off dock

Wed Apr 24 12:25:26 CEST 2024 Timsen

The 'Højestene' slipped off a dock on April 21, 2024, at the J. Ring-Andersen Shipyard in Svendborg. After the accident, the ferry docked at Petersen & Sørensen, where it could be ascertained that in addition to visible damage to the bow flap, there was also damage to the hull and one rudder. As a result of the further inspection on the morningof April 23, as well as reasonable demands from the Danish Maritime Authority for inspection, the inspection and repair time had to be extended. The return was postponed to the 5.30 p.m. departure from Svendborg on April 29. Until then, the route was covered by the ferry 'Helge', which cannot carry cars.

Ferry suffered double trouble

Thu Sep 27 13:45:01 CEST 2018 Timsen

On Sep 26, 2018, the "Højestene" suffered engine problems and at the same time had to fight with hard wind and battle rough seas. In the morning the ferry had to abandon all departures to and from Drejø with the exception of the first morning departure because a combination of strong southwest wind and engine problems. After troubleshooting the ship was about to resume the sailings between Skarø and Drejø, but around 3 p.m. during trials in Svendborg a tugboat was called to assist due to ongoing engine trouble caused by a broken fuel line which forced the ship to sail with one engine only which is no problem with less wind. At 3.15 p.m. the ship was heading towards Skarø. A new pump has been ordered.
