Repairs in Fethiye underway

After the 'Ibiscus' suffered a technical failure off Rhodes island, in pos. 36 29 00 N, 28 26 00 E on Dec 4, 2022, and entered the Fethiye marina the same day, a detailed technical inspection was carried out by shore-based technicians. A new set of spare parts was provided by the owners from an authorized manufacturer. Upon completion of permanent repairs, trials will be carried out at the anchorage area. The vessel remained stationary at Fethiye as of Jan 15.

Technical failure off Rhodes

The 'Ibiscus', en route from Rhodes to Fethiye, suffered a technical failure east of Rhodes Island in pos. 36 29 00 N, 28 26 00 E in the morning of Oct 4, 2022. The tug 'Captain Dimitris' (IMO: 8129204) attended the scene and provided assistance. Subsequently, temporary repairs were carried out by the crew, and the vessel resumed its voyage at slow speed under its own power with an ETA as of 8 p.m. LT the same day. The tug returned to Rhodes port.

Ferry damaged by underwater obstruction

The "Sierra Queen" of the Westminster Group was damaged while transiting between terminals in Sierra Leone, after striking an uncharted submerged obstacle on ARp 5, 2016. The vessel was docked for inspections.
