Robbers aborted boarding attempt off Puerto José
On May 23, 2018, at 7 a.m. white skiff with three robbers on board approached and came alongside the "Jag Punit" in position 10 11.34N, 64 47.74W, at Puerto José anchorage. The robbers attempted to board the tanker via the poop deck. The duty crew spotted the robbers and raised the alarm, resulting in the robbers aborting the boarding and moving away from the tanker in their skiff.
G E Shipping Acquires Product Tanker
The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd. (G E Shipping) took delivery of a Newbuilding Medium Range Product Tanker “Jag Punit” of about 49,700 dwt. The company had contracted to buy the ship in December 2012. The vessel is built at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co.
