Coast Guard rejected to carry out PSC
The crew of the 'Jia Geng' which had entered the waters of the Catanduances Province without clreareance. refused access to the PCG supposedly because of COVID-19 protocols on Jan 29, 2021. The ship was to be subjected to a PSC because it was inside municipal waters. The PCG in Catanduanes monitored the ship. On Jan 30 the PCG was informed that the Chinese embassy had requested for a diplomatic clrearance to take shelter due to bad weather. It had entered the Philippine EEZ on Jan 25. It sought clearance to anchor in Cabugao Bay from Jan 29 to Feb 2, but left on Feb 1.
