Ferry suffered significant damage in collision
The container ship "Hong Yang" was in collision with the "Jian Feng Ling" in the Hainan Strait on Apr 5, 2018, at 03.50 a.m. The container ship struck the ferry’s starboard side which was significantly damaged with the hull being dented and breached, liferafts damaged or torn off, some trucks and cars on cargo deck damaged and/or destroyed. Several passengers were slightly injured. The container ship sustained damage to the foreship. It had sailed from Haikou on Apr 8, bound for Qinzhou. The ferry was taken to Hainan after the collision and later moved to Zhanjiang.
