Freighter abandoned off Shantou
The "Jin Yuan Lun 6 Hao" issued a distress signal on April 15, 2019, at 10.30 a.m., requesting immediate assistance, in the Guang’ao Bay off Shantou in Guangdong. The 11 crew members abandoned the ship and went into a life raft. They were rescued by the tanker "Zi Tong" (IMO: 9469261) half an hour later. Their ship had developed a list, and an SAR ship was sent to the driftiing vessel to monitor the situation and attempt to salvage it.
