First modern small all-weather lifeboat transported to museum in Munich

Wed Apr 25 10:00:29 CEST 2012 Timsen

After 25 years of service the "Asmus Bremer" was decommissioned in April 2012. The ship will be on display in the German Museum in Munich now, joining the "Theodor Heuss" and being an example of the prototype of modern all-weather lifeboats. Between 1987 and 2012 the boat saved 644 persons and sailed about 88000 miles during 3900 trips. On Apr 20, expters of the companies Faltus & Bantje Yachttransporte from Weyhe and Autokrane Mennen & Wittrock loaded the boat onto a low loader on which it was carried to Munich. In autumn the "Asmus Bremer" will be on display at the main entrance of the German Museum.
