Repairs in Tuzla completed
On Feb 24 the 'Kiran Asya' has shifted from the shipyard in Tuzla to the port's anchorage and carried out sea trials and final performance tests under satisfaction of class surveyors together with the owner's superintendent. Upon completion of formalities,a new set of trading certificates was to be issued by the attending classification society and the flag state authority. The ship was moored in pos. 40° 49.03' N 029° 13.96' E as of Feb 25.
Repair work underway
Detailed damage surveys were carried out by appointed class surveyors and H&M experts aboard the "Kiran Asya" at the Tuzla shipyard upon berthing. Steel renewal, electric system replacement locations have been marked by attended surveyors. Permanent repair works were commenced by shore based technical teams and by shipyard duty engineers with class surveyor further recommendations. Subsequently, a new set of spare parts will be provided by the manufacturers for further renewals. The vessel remained stationary in Tuzla on Oct 14.
Cargo discharge has commenced after finishing of fire fighting ops
The fire aboard the "Kiran Asya" has been fully extinguished and the cooling operation has been completed on Sep 10 around noon. An initial damage survey was carried out by the surveyor panel from the Classification society, H&M insurance and state surveyors. The vessel discharged its cargo at the Atakas pier in Iskenderun. Upon completion of this operation, repairs were scheduled. The tug 'Altug' towed the vessel to Tuzla Shipyard where it arrived on Sep 23 at 7.30 p.m.
