Arrest in Chittagong
On Jan 6, 2022, the Bangladesh's Chittagong Port Authority arrested the 'Klima' at the port's outer anchorage. The Radiant Shipping Limited, the local shipping agents for the vessel, had informed about the quality issues, which triggered an importer to get the vessel arrested via court order. Talks with the importers were going on, for a resolution. The ship was released on Jan 30.
Arrest in Chittagong
The 'Klima' was arrested in Chittagong during the discharge of imported cargoes on Jan 9, 2022, at berth number J/3 as per the local High Court orders dated Jan 6. The ship had arrived on Jan 1 and took berth J/7. It shifted to berth J/3 on Jan 7. On Jan 11 it shifted to the Chittagong anchorage for the resolution of the litigation case.
Collision of two bulk carriers
In the evening of July 4, 2019, the "Klima" collided with the bulk carrier "Spring Snow" on Singapore roads. Both ships were receiving fuel from bunker tankers at the time of the accident. The "Klima" suffered a hull breach in the cargo hold area, with ensuing water ingress. The ship with 30.000 tons of iron ore fines was en route from Dhamra to Singapore.
