KYSTBUNKER 9153018

Fri Dec 17 09:56:32 CET 2010 Timsen

Coming from Bodoe on Dec 16, 2010, at 3 p.m., the "Kystbunker" suffered engine trouble in the Harøyfjorden in Møre, Romsdal. The rescue boat "Emmy Dyvi" was contacted via Flora Radio when the tank m/v was only 30 minutes from running aground south of Aukra. The cause of the machine failure was low pressure in the oil pipe system, but according to the captain of the "Kystbunker" the engine could be re-started at any time if needed or the 35 m long ship could be anchored. The "Emmy Dyvi" took the vessel in tow. The ship which has a crew of 4 already suffered machine failure in March 2009 and then had been assisted by the rescue boat "Det Norske Veritas".
