Adaptable grounded in Sound of Mull

Mon Apr 08 22:19:09 CEST 2013 Timsen

The "Adaptable" ran aground at Ardtornish Point in the Sound of Mull, Argyll, on the west coast of Scotland on Apr 5, 2013 and had to be towed back to harbour by Oban lifeboat. The ship went aground at 2.43 a.m. but there was no ingress of water or pollution from the boat. A tow line was established from the lifeboat to to the Adaptable and she was pulled free of the shoreline. Because of steering gear problems a slow and tricky tow took place back to Oban where the vessel was berthed alongside the North Pier by 6.05 a.m. Report with photo: http://rnli.org/NewsCentre/Pages/Oban-volunteers-help-fishing-boat-during-night-time-incident.aspx
