Seized fishing vessel released

The 'Lady T', which had been seized by French authorities for fishing for whelks without a licence, has been released, The skipper of the Lady T, who appeared in a court in Boulogne-sur-Mer on the afternoon of May 26, has been ordered to pay a substantial fine. The exact amount has not been disclosed. The skipper was very co-operative when being questioned by French authorities. The 'Lady T' left the port of Boulogne sure Mer at 4 p.m. UK time.

Fishing vessel caught fishing without license

During the night of May 22, 2025, the French Navy inspected the "Lady T,operating off the Bay of Somme. It did not have a license authorizing it to fish in French waters, As the offense was established, the vessel was diverted during the night of May 23 to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, following the instructions of the Delegate for the Sea and Coastline (DML), acting on behalf of the Regional Prefect, who oversees the fisheries police, for the purpose of initiating a prosecution under the authority of the Public Prosecutor.
