Fire on container ship

On Oct 13, 2022, at 4.20 p.m. WIB fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Lit Enterprise',in Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. When the ship was advancing slowly, the engine stopped and went forward again. The engine room reported that there was an engine that had trouble, and a few seconds later a lot of smoke came out of the smoke stack. The vessel had sailed from the Atapupu Timor port, loaded with 221 empty containers, and had arrived at the port of Tanjung Perak on Oct 9. When the fire broke out, it was just about to dock. The fire spread to the superstructure. Fire engines and tugs were fighting blaze both from the shore and from seaside. Nearby shops were shifted to safe berths. All 19 crew members were safe.
