Fire on pilot boat
Three sailors were rescued from the "Lynx" on the River Tay after their boat caught fire in the early hours of Aug 20, 2016. The Broughty Ferry RNLI boat raced to the mouth of the Tay, south of Buddon Point, after receiving a distress call shortly before 3 a.m. Despite hazards being created by thick fog, the all-weather lifeboat "Elizabeth of Glamis" arrived on scene within minutes. The Dundee Port Pilot boat “Lynx”, had been on route to provide guidance to an incoming ship when the fire broke out.
