Fire in engine room

On May 10, 2018, at 10.20 a.m. the crew of the "Manuela Hauswald" alerted the MRCC in Bremen after having noticed smoke development in the engine room off Grömitz in the Baltic Sea. The two fishermen sealed the engine room and flooded it with CO2. The lifeboat "Hans Hackmack" of the DGzRS station Grömitz attended the shio with members of the local voluteer fire brigade on board. The fishing vesssel was drifting five miles SE of the port The daughter boat "Emmi" transferred two firefighters aboard the vessel who checked the engine room and found the fire was out.
