Medevac off Brest
On Jan 25, 2013, at midnight the regional operational surveillance and rescue Center Corsen was alerted by the "Maran Capricorn" which was enroute from England to South Korea which was 70 nautical miles west of Brest due to a sick Crew member. In a consultation between the medical consultation maritime center of Toulouse, CROSS Corsen Medical Center and the ship a medevac of the patient was decided. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the French Navy with a medical team of military health service on board. The Filipino seafarer aged 28, was hoisted aboard the helicopter and transferred to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest where he was delivered at 3:00 a.m.
