Ferry grounded due to low tide

Wed May 22 13:12:26 CEST 2024 Timsen

The 'Maria Wyona' has been stranded for more than four hours three kilometers away from Dumangas port on May 8, 2024. The ship had sailed from Bacolod City at 4 p.m. with 161 passengers and 25 cargoes, based on the manifesto. At 6:16 p.m. the Philippine Coast Guard received a report that the RoRo vessel was stranded in the middle of the lake due to low tide. The ship had just started that route on May 8 and it was the fist call in Dumangas, so the situation was not anticipated. A ship of Montenegro Shipping Lines took the passengers off and transported them to Dumangas port. The Coast Guard launched an investigation into the incident.
