Truck driver found dead in cabin

The crew of the 'Martin I Soler', which connects Mallorca with Menorca and Barcelona, upon arriving in Ciutadella, encountered a locked cabin on the moprning of May 31, 2025. The crew was alerted because the guest who had spent the night in the cabin refused to leave despite repeated requests. When the door was opened, they crew discovered the lifeless body of a man. The deceased was a 58-year-old Spanish truck driver. An ambulance from Emergency Service 061 was immediately dispatched and could only confirm the man's death. The truck driver had apparently died several hours earlier.

Elderly woman died on board

An 87-year-old woman who was traveling with her family aboard the 'Martin I Soler' has died on arrival in Ciutadella from Alcúdia on June 6, 2019. The woman felt indisposed and ended up suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest when the ferry was only about 40 minutes from the port of Son Blanc. The captain of the ship has activated the emergency protocols and has given notice to both the medical radio service and Emergency 112 in Menorca. The woman has been taken care of from the first moment by the crew of the ship and by a doctor who traveled with her.
